Bill overview
This bill would allow medical debt payments, including those paid or settled and those made as part of a payment plan, to be reported as positive credit information. Currently, medical debt is often reported negatively, which can harm a consumer’s credit score. The bill aims to improve credit reporting by allowing furnishers of medical debt information to report these positive payments to consumer reporting agencies, and for credit score providers to consider this information when calculating credit scores.
