Bill overview
This bill, the CTE Student Mental Health and Wellness Act, aims to improve the mental health support available to students in career and technical education (CTE) schools. It modifies existing federal grant programs to specifically include CTE schools as eligible recipients of funds for mental health and substance use disorder services. By expanding eligibility, the bill seeks to address the growing mental health needs of CTE students. This will be achieved by updating the Public Health Service Act to recognize CTE schools as ‘covered institutions’ alongside traditional higher education institutions.
