Bill overview
This bill reauthorizes the Chesapeake Bay Program, a collaborative effort between the federal government and the states of Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware, and Virginia to restore and protect the Chesapeake Bay. It does this by amending the Federal Water Pollution Control Act to provide dedicated funding. Specifically, the bill allocates $100 million annually from 2026 through 2030 to support the program’s ongoing efforts. The reauthorization aims to continue and expand the Bay Program’s work on reducing pollution and improving the health of the Bay ecosystem.
