Bill overview
This bill, the IVF for Families Act, creates a tax credit to help cover the costs of fertility treatments. Specifically, it allows individuals to claim a nonrefundable tax credit of up to $15,000 for qualified expenses related to procedures intended to help with pregnancy, including in vitro fertilization and other treatments like ovulation induction. The credit is available to married couples filing jointly, with certain exceptions, and cannot be claimed if the expenses were reimbursed by insurance or already deducted elsewhere.
