Bill overview
This bill creates a task force within the Department of Justice, called ELDER, to specifically address the growing problem of elder abuse experienced by LGBTQI+ individuals. The task force will study the issue, develop national and local best practices for prevention and response, create educational materials, and coordinate efforts among law enforcement agencies. Ultimately, the goal is to improve the protection and safety of older LGBTQI+ adults.
