Bill overview
This bill, the Taiwan Identification Terminology and Label Enhancement Act (TITLE Act), requires all U.S. federal agencies to use the term ‘Taiwan’ instead of ‘Chinese Taipei’ in their official communications and on their websites. The bill aims to reflect the U.S. commitment to Taiwan’s security and sovereignty, and to counter the People’s Republic of China’s attempts to exert control over the island. Agencies have 14 days to update their websites to comply with this change.
