Bill overview
This bill allows veterans who have received the Purple Heart for service on or after September 11, 2001, to transfer any unused Post-9/11 Educational Assistance benefits to eligible family members. Veterans can designate one or more dependents, such as children or spouses, to receive the funds, with a maximum transfer limit of 36 months. The bill also addresses how these transferred funds can be used, including rules about when a dependent can start using the benefits and how death of the veteran affects the transfer.
