Bill overview
The Terrorist Deportation Act of 2023 aims to strengthen the removal process for non-U.S. nationals identified in the terrorist screening database. It designates these individuals as deportable and inadmissible, with limited exceptions for lawful permanent residents. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) can grant waivers for temporary admission, but only with unanimous agreement from several federal agencies. Furthermore, this bill restricts certain immigration benefits, such as asylum, for those in the database and establishes expedited removal procedures for security-related cases.
