Bill overview
This bill, the Reserve Component Healthcare Access and Expansion Act, aims to expand access to healthcare services for members of the National Guard and Reserve components of the military. It amends existing law to allow the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide hospital care and medical services, including mental health, to these service members when they are not eligible for TRICARE Prime. The bill also modifies the Department’s patient enrollment system to prioritize and ensure enrollment of reserve component members, along with conducting a study to improve access to care.
