Bill overview
This bill reauthorizes the Chesapeake Bay Gateways and Watertrails Network for the period of fiscal years 2025 through 2030. The network supports local communities along the Chesapeake Bay by developing and maintaining gateways and watertrails – recreational areas and trails – that promote tourism and environmental education. Specifically, the bill increases the funding allocated to the network from $3 million to $6 million annually during this reauthorization period. This will help sustain and expand these important regional assets.
