Bill overview
This bill temporarily allows for a greater use of Homeland Security grants to address staffing needs. Specifically, it allows recipients of certain grants to use up to 75% of their funding for hiring personnel, including public safety officers, and for overtime and backfill costs. This flexibility is intended to support immediate needs until September 30, 2025. The bill also extends this flexibility to facility security personnel costs.
