Bill overview
This bill aims to increase transparency regarding encounters at the U.S. border by requiring the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency to publish data on these encounters on a monthly basis. The data, which includes information on border encounters, must be released by the seventh day of each calendar month. Failure to meet this publication requirement would result in a 25% reduction in the salaries and expenses of the Department of Homeland Security. This legislation seeks to provide the public with more readily available information about border activity.
