Bill overview
This bill, the Johanna’s Law Reauthorization Act, extends and strengthens the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) national awareness campaign about gynecologic cancers. It directs the CDC to specifically target women at higher risk, such as African-American and Ashkenazi Jewish populations, using traditional and digital media. Furthermore, the bill authorizes funding for the CDC to establish a grant program to test and evaluate different outreach strategies to improve knowledge and awareness of these cancers among women and healthcare providers, prioritizing organizations with relevant expertise and those that can foster collaboration between healthcare systems.
