This bill authorizes the Pines Foundation to create a memorial within Fire Island National Seashore to honor the residents of Fire Island Pines and Cherry Grove who died from AIDS. The memorial’s purpose is to remember those lost and educate future generations about the impact of the AIDS epidemic on these communities. The Foundation will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the memorial, but federal funds cannot be used for its design, construction, or upkeep.
