Bill overview
This bill establishes the Ocmulgee Mounds National Park and Preserve in Georgia, redesignating the existing Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park as a National Park and creating a new National Preserve. The Secretary of the Interior can acquire land for both areas through purchase, donation, or exchange, and a council will advise on management. The bill also addresses co-management with the Muscogee (Creek) Nation, allows for hunting and fishing, and transfers approximately 126 acres of land currently owned by the Tribe into trust for their benefit.
