Bill overview
The Export Controls Enforcement Improvement Act of 2024 establishes a new interagency center within the Department of Homeland Security, called the Export Enforcement Coordination Center. This center will coordinate export enforcement efforts among various federal agencies, including the State, Treasury, and Defense departments, to combat illegal export activities. It will also track enforcement activities, share information with law enforcement and intelligence communities, and focus on specific risks related to sensitive technologies and countries of concern, such as China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea. Finally, the act directs the center to analyze the value of deploying law enforcement officials abroad and hosting foreign officials.
