Bill overview
This bill aims to improve awareness of VA home loans for veterans. It requires Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to include a specific disclaimer on their standard mortgage application form, informing applicants with military service that they may be eligible for a VA loan. The disclaimer will direct applicants to discuss their eligibility with their lender. Following enactment, the Government Accountability Office will assess whether lenders are complying with this new requirement.
