Bill overview
This bill transfers federal land at Swanson and Hugh Butler Reservoirs in Nebraska to Hitchcock and Frontier Counties, respectively. The counties must manage the land for similar purposes as its current use, including recreation, public access, fish and wildlife habitat, and preserving its natural character. Within three years, the Bureau of Reclamation must negotiate title transfers, with the counties responsible for providing compensation and covering conveyance costs. The bill also includes provisions for establishing management agreements and limits future conveyances of the land.
