The Advancing FASD Research, Services, and Prevention Act, also known as the FASD Respect Act, reauthorizes and modifies existing programs within the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) aimed at addressing fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). It establishes FASD Centers of Excellence to support prevention efforts, including screenings and public awareness campaigns, and expands HHS’s role in research and identifying best practices for diagnosis and treatment. The bill also aims to increase capacity at the state and tribal levels to support individuals with FASD and their families.
