Bill overview
The Countering Antisemitism Act aims to strengthen federal efforts to combat antisemitism in the United States. It recognizes the growing threat of antisemitic incidents, including a significant increase in hate crimes and reported incidents, and highlights the role of social media in spreading antisemitic tropes. The bill establishes a National Coordinator to lead counter-antisemitism efforts, creates an interagency task force to coordinate strategies, and directs agencies to implement the U.S. National Strategy to Counter Antisemitism. It also seeks to improve Holocaust education and address online antisemitism through a study and recommendations for Congress.
