Bill overview
This bill, the IMPACTT Human Trafficking Act, establishes two new programs within Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). It creates the Investigators Maintain Purposeful Awareness to Combat Trafficking Trauma (IMAPTT) Program, which will provide training and support to HSI employees who may be exposed to trauma while working with trafficking victims. Additionally, the bill creates the Homeland Security Investigations Victim Assistance Program, designed to offer oversight, training, and direct assistance to victims of human trafficking through forensic interview specialists and victim assistance specialists.
