Bill overview
This bill directs the Architect of the Capitol to create a Congressional time capsule, known as the Semiquincentennial Congressional Time Capsule, to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in 2026. Congressional leaders will decide what items to include in the capsule, which will be sealed and buried on the Capitol grounds and remain unopened until 2276. The contents will include historical documents, legislative milestones, and a message to future Congresses.
