Overview
This bill, the Indian Health Service Emergency Claims Parity Act, changes the timeframe for notifying the Purchased/Referred Care (PRC) program about emergency medical care received outside of Indian Health Service facilities. Currently, patients must notify the PRC within 72 hours. This bill extends that deadline to 15 days, aiming to provide more flexibility and reduce administrative burdens for patients and providers. The bill does not affect elderly or disabled individuals, who still need to notify the PRC within 30 days.
