Bill overview
The Rural Prosperity and Food Security Act of 2024 aims to reform and continue agricultural and other Department of Agriculture programs through 2029. It addresses commodity policy, including price loss coverage and agriculture risk coverage, marketing loans, sugar and dairy programs, and disaster assistance. The bill also includes provisions for noninsured crop assistance, administration improvements, and conservation efforts such as wetland and forest management. Finally, it addresses trade issues related to food aid and agricultural exports, as well as nutrition programs.
