Bill overview
The Trafficking Survivors Relief Act of 2024 aims to help victims of human trafficking by allowing them to have certain convictions vacated and arrest records expunged. It establishes a process for individuals convicted of level A or level C federal offenses, or arrested for those offenses, to petition the court for relief if they were victims of trafficking. The bill also includes provisions for reducing sentences for covered prisoners who were victims of trafficking and mandates reporting requirements for U.S. Attorneys and the GAO to assess the impact of the legislation and improve training on human trafficking indicators.
