Bill overview
This bill creates a Catalytic Converter Theft Task Force to combat the rising problem of catalytic converter theft. The task force, comprised of representatives from the Department of Justice, the Department of Transportation, and state and local law enforcement, will assess current strategies and make recommendations for legislative, regulatory, and law enforcement reforms. It will also submit regular reports to Congress, the Attorney General, the Secretary of Transportation, and state attorneys general to track progress and propose solutions.
