Bill overview
The America Act, also known as the Advertising Middlemen Endangering Rigorous Internet Competition Accountability Act, aims to increase competition in the digital advertising market. It restricts large digital advertising companies from owning multiple types of advertising services and imposes requirements on companies with significant revenue to act in the best interest of their customers. Specifically, companies with over $20 billion in digital advertising revenue are prohibited from owning multiple advertising exchange or brokerage types, and those with over $5 billion in revenue must prioritize customer interests. The bill also introduces transparency measures and establishes a fund to compensate harmed consumers.
