Overview
This bill requires New Jersey health insurers to clearly explain why they deny coverage for private duty nursing services. If a request is denied because the insurer believes the services aren’t medically necessary, the insurer must also explain why the doctor’s assessment was incorrect. The bill also mandates that insurers provide examples of when these services have been approved, along with the supporting documentation.
