Overview
This bill creates a two-year pilot program in New Jersey that allows certain licensed psychiatric facilities to temporarily use existing adult acute psychiatric beds as adult closed acute psychiatric beds without increasing their licensed capacity or requiring departmental approval. Facilities participating in the program would need to report details about their usage to the Department of Health, and the Department would assess whether the program should be extended or made permanent. The goal is to provide flexibility in managing psychiatric bed availability.
