This bill prohibits the release of hazardous chemicals or physical agents into the atmosphere for the purpose of geoengineering, which is defined as intentionally manipulating the environment to alter Earth’s conditions, including activities like cloud seeding and aerosol injection. It requires notification to federal representatives if a federal agency engages in such activities within New Jersey and establishes a public monitoring program. Violators could face civil administrative penalties up to $50,000.
