Overview
This bill, the "Fairness for Coastal School Districts in Development Restricted Areas Act," provides additional State school aid to certain New Jersey school districts located in municipalities subject to the Coastal Area Facility Review Act (CAFRA). These districts must have experienced a recent decline in state aid, have a high resident enrollment (over 500 students), and be located in a municipality where at least 20% of the land is considered coastal. The amount of aid provided is based on the number of coastal acres within the district’s municipality, with limits based on student enrollment.
