Overview
This bill expands New Jersey’s volunteer tuition credit program to include active members of volunteer fire companies, rescue squads, and associations, as well as their dependents. It also increases the maximum amount of tuition credit available – from $2,400 over four years to $4,000 – for eligible volunteers. To qualify, volunteers must serve for at least four years and maintain a ‘C’ grade average while enrolled in a four-year public institution of higher education.
