Overview
This bill requires New Jersey hospitals with emergency departments to inform parents or guardians when a child presents experiencing a mental health crisis about available care management organizations. These organizations provide support and care coordination for young people with complex mental health needs. The bill also defines a ‘care management organization’ as a county-based, nonprofit organization that offers in-person care management services. It will go into effect 90 days after it is enacted.
