Overview
This bill allows the New Jersey Secretary of Agriculture to declare an agricultural emergency when factors beyond a farmer’s control, such as weather or supply chain issues, negatively impact crop yields. The Department of Agriculture must then post information about the emergency and available resources on its website. Furthermore, the Department will conduct a study within six months to identify and report on potential funding sources available to farmers during these emergencies.
