Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) to conduct a comprehensive study on the environmental, infrastructural, and financial impacts of data center development within the state. The study will examine energy consumption, water usage, effects on the electric grid and air quality, land use, potential environmental degradation, and fiscal impacts. The BPU must also include recommendations for addressing these impacts in its report to the Governor and the Legislature.
