Overview
This bill allocates $64,787,327 from various farmland preservation funds to the State Agriculture Development Committee (SADC) to support farmland preservation efforts in New Jersey. The funds will be used to acquire farmland through easements and fee simple purchases, provide grants to counties and nonprofits for similar acquisitions, and offer stewardship grants to landowners for maintaining preserved farmland. A portion of the funds will also support program administration and legal enforcement related to development easements.
