Overview
This bill ensures that health insurance and Medicaid programs in New Jersey will reimburse clinical laboratories for their services, regardless of whether the laboratory is part of a managed care plan. It requires insurers and managed care organizations to pay laboratories the same rate they would pay participating providers for comparable services. The bill also prevents the state from requiring laboratories to join managed care to receive Medicaid reimbursement.
