An Act amending the act of June 13, 1967 (P.L.31, No.21), known as the Human Services Code, in departmental powers and duties as to supervision, providing for notification of child care closure and for notification of child care closure.

This bill updates the Pennsylvania Human Services Code to require child care centers and family child care homes to notify the Department of Human Services, parents, and guardians at least 30 days before closing. It also establishes a process for these facilities to preserve records and outlines potential liability for parents if the notification requirements aren't met. The bill also grants the Department the authority to require insurance or financial reserves to ensure the continued operation of child care centers.
