An Act amending the act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the Pennsylvania Election Code, in voting by qualified absentee electors, further providing for voting by absentee electors and for canvassing of official absentee ballots and mail-in ballots; and, in voting by qualified mail-in electors, further providing for voting by mail-in electors.

This bill amends the Pennsylvania Election Code to adjust deadlines for receiving absentee and mail-in ballots. Specifically, it extends the deadline for receiving completed absentee and mail-in ballots to five o’clock P.M. on the seventh day following the primary or election, provided the elector declared under penalty of perjury that the ballot was timely submitted. The bill also clarifies that ballots should not be rejected due to late postmarks or unreadable markings.
