Bill overview
This bill, the Transparency in Medicare Advantage Steering Act, aims to increase transparency in how Medicare Advantage plans are sold. It requires Medicare Advantage organizations to report annually to the government about the agents, brokers, and other third parties who enroll individuals in their plans, including the compensation paid to these individuals. Starting in 2030, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will use this data to identify enrollment methods and make the information publicly available.
