Overview
This bill requires certain artificial intelligence (AI) developers, specifically ‘large frontier developers,’ to disclose information about their AI models to the New Jersey Attorney General. These developers must create and maintain protocols to assess and reduce the risk of catastrophic harm from their AI systems, submit annual ‘Risk Management Disclosures’ outlining these protocols, and provide ‘New Model Risk Disclosures’ before deploying new or updated models. The Attorney General will issue rules to guide these disclosures, potentially aligning them with national standards, and can audit developers for compliance. Failure to comply can result in civil penalties.
