Overview
This bill requires the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to notify property owners when the status of their land changes regarding wetlands designation. If the DEP reevaluates or remaps wetlands areas, property owners must be informed of any changes, including whether their property is now or no longer considered a wetlands area. The bill also establishes a process for property owners to appeal the DEP’s wetland designations, following the procedures outlined in the Administrative Procedure Act.
