Overview
This bill increases the amount of the New Jersey child tax credit available to residents for the tax years 2026, 2027, and 2028. Currently, the credit is based on a taxpayer’s income, with the amount decreasing as income rises. The bill temporarily increases the credit amounts for these years, providing a larger tax benefit to families with lower incomes. After 2028, the credit amounts will revert to the existing schedule.
