Overview
This bill would change New Jersey’s wrongful death law to allow for additional damages in cases where the deceased was a minor at the time of their death. Specifically, a jury could award damages to compensate for emotional distress, loss of companionship, care expenses, and pain and suffering experienced by the surviving parent of the deceased, in addition to the usual monetary damages.
