Overview
This bill changes how certain motor vehicle-related funding is distributed to municipalities in New Jersey. It allows specific cities with a population increase of over 15% since 2010 (reaching 200,000 or more) to use revenues from a parking tax and parking penalties for operating and administrative expenses related to mass transit. The bill also expands the ability of these qualifying municipalities to collect a rental car tax, regardless of airport presence or location restrictions.
