IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
A BILL
To make standard time permanent except in States that elect to observe daylight saving time, and for other purposes.
This Act may be cited as the Sunshine for Our Kids Act of 2026
.
Calder Act), is amended—
by redesignating subsection (b) as subsection (c); and
by inserting after subsection (a) the following:
In the case of a State that has areas within more than 1 time zone, such State may by law provide for—
the standard time for the entire State to be advanced as described in paragraph (1); or
In this subsection, the term State
has the meaning given such term in section 7 of the Uniform Time Act of 1966 (15 U.S.C. 267).
Except as provided in section 3(a) of the Uniform Time Act of 1966 (15 U.S.C. 260a),and inserting
Except as provided in subsection (b),.
The amendments made by this section shall take effect on the first Sunday of November that first occurs after the date of the enactment of this Act.
