Bill overview
This bill, the Generative AI Terrorism Risk Assessment Act, requires the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to annually assess the potential threats posed by terrorist organizations using generative artificial intelligence (AI). The assessments will analyze how terrorists are utilizing AI for spreading extremist messages and developing weapons, and will recommend counter-terrorism measures. DHS is also directed to share information gathered by fusion centers with the Department and ensure that relevant federal agencies share information with DHS.
