Bill overview
This bill, titled the Illegitimate Court Counteraction Act, aims to restrict the actions of foreign entities that assist the International Criminal Court (ICC) in investigating, arresting, detaining, or prosecuting individuals deemed ‘protected persons.’ It designates U.S. citizens, officials, and residents, as well as citizens and residents of U.S. allies not party to the ICC’s Rome Statute, as protected persons. The bill proposes imposing visa and property sanctions on foreign individuals and entities involved in these ICC actions, and rescinds any existing U.S. funding for the ICC, effectively prohibiting future appropriations.
