Bill overview
The Guidance Out of Darkness Act, or the GOOD Act, requires federal agencies to make their guidance documents more accessible to the public. Specifically, agencies must publish new guidance documents online as soon as they are issued, consolidate all existing guidance documents onto a designated website, and clearly indicate which documents have been rescinded. The bill also mandates a report from the Government Accountability Office five years after enactment to assess agency compliance with these requirements.
