Bill overview
This bill directs the Secretary of Commerce to conduct a study examining the feasibility of manufacturing products critical to the United States’ infrastructure within the country. The study will identify products currently imported due to domestic manufacturing limitations, analyze the potential economic and labor impacts of domestic production, and assess the viability of manufacturing in various locations, including rural areas. The Secretary will then report their findings and recommendations to Congress and make the report publicly available.
